The cookies and browser storage this website uses, including those set by the services we use for live chat, reviews and spam protection, and how to change your choice at any time.

Our approach

We use as little as possible. There are no advertising cookies, and nothing of ours follows you to other websites. Anything that is not strictly necessary stays off until you choose to turn it on, and rejecting it is as easy as accepting it.

You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer of every page. If you withdraw consent, services that were loaded stop loading from your next page view. Cookies they have already set stay in your browser until they expire or you clear them.

Strictly necessary

These make the website work, and the law allows them without consent.

Shortlists, comparisons, enquiry drafts and searches stay in your browser. They are not sent to us unless you choose to send a shortlist or an enquiry.

Spam protection on our forms

Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that they are being sent by a person and not a bot. It runs when a form is on the page, and may keep short-lived technical data in your browser while it makes the check. It is not used for advertising. Because it protects a form you have chosen to use, it does not need consent.

Live chat

Our live chat is provided by tawk.to. It does not load when you arrive on the website. It loads:

  • when you choose to chat with us, because you have asked for that service, or
  • in the background, if you have accepted optional cookies, so that the chat opens straight away when you need it

Once loaded, tawk.to sets its own cookies and browser storage to keep your conversation connected. At the time of writing, tawk.to lists these:

If you never open the chat and have not accepted optional cookies, none of these are set.

If you accept analytics, we load Plausible, a privacy-friendly analytics service. It does not set cookies, does not collect personal information, and does not follow you to other websites. It counts page views and a few events, such as starting an enquiry or pressing a call button, so we can see what is useful. If you reject analytics, it never loads.

With the same consent, we also report technical faults in your browser (the error message and the page it happened on) so we can fix them.

Where we show reviews from an independent review service such as Trustpilot or Feefo using that service's own widget, the widget loads only after you accept optional cookies. The review service may then set its own cookies, described in the Trustpilot cookie policy and the Feefo privacy policy.

Staff sign-in

Staff who sign in to manage the website receive a sign-in cookie. Visitors never do.

Managing cookies in your browser

You can also block or delete cookies in your browser's settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies, parts of the website, such as remembering your cookie choice, will not work.
